Pipe construction

Pipe construction

PIPELINE CONSTRUCTION
can get pretty heated:

Pipeline construction covers the construction of pipe systems for the transport of all kinds of media such as greases, oils, water, gases, fuels, chemicals etc. In industrial usage the piping systems have to deal with direct contact with the materials being transported and external factors such as variations in pressure, high humidity, cold and heat.

The task

The client, a glass finishing company, asked us to put in the entire piping for a new factory building. The challenge: there was an enormous heat inside the building due to the existing kilns. The materials that needed to be transported were: incoming and exhaust for the kilns as well as gas and pressurized air for the production facilities. The production site is located in Germany.

Our solution

  • Consulting on the routing of the pipes
  • Design of the piping with respect to size and dimensions
  • Consultation with gas supplier
  • Installation of circ 500 meters of piping
  • Project duration: ca. 2 months

Customer benefit

On time production as set out in the project plan

Punctual start of production
No costs for downtime

Proper choice of material for the exhaust stacks of the kilns as determined by experts – an important factor due to the enormous heat produced by the kilns.

Mechanical engineering

Mechanical engineering

In MECHANICAL ENGINEERING,
we help to put motors through extreme tests:

Engine test benches are used to test motors with respect to their functionality – independent from their usual work environment. The goal is to optimise certain characteristics such as fuel consumption. They also serve to carry out endurance tests. Here the motors are subject to extreme conditions in order to find out where the weak spots of various components are and eliminate these before serial production starts. The engine test benches are to be used in Germany, Asia and South America.

The task

An internationally active German automotive company asked us to construct the media supply and engine cooling for engine test benches for cars and motorcycles.

The special thing about this job:
We had to guarantee that in our solution the oil would flow without any aeration or bubble formation.

Our solution

  • Selection of material
  • Determination of the necessary components: container, tank, valves, pipe sizes
  • Structure of the petrol supply
  • Construction and assembly of the petrol tank
  • Piping and connection of the petrol tank to the engine test bench
  • Piping and design of the oil injection
  • Design of the motor cooling system
  • Piping for the motor cooling system including all the materials
  • Production and assembly of the engine coolant and the condensing coil consisting
  • of two fluid reservoirs and a coolant reservoir made of stainless steel.
  • Project duration: ca. 2 months

Customer benefit

Fast production and assembly

Components with a long life cycle

Precise measurements of the oil level (determination of ideal oil level)

Containers

Containers

In our CONTAINERS,
cosmetics can be really hot, or super cool:

The cosmetics industry uses containers for a wide range of applications. For example, containers are used for storing oils, as agitator vessels to mix substances or as process tanks where substances are heated. This is one of the industries that sets exceedingly high demands with respect to hygiene. That is why only high-grade materials such as stainless steel are used. The agitator vessel is located in Germany.

The Task

A German manufacturer in the cosmetics industry asked us to build and assemble an agitator vessel. The vessel was to be used to mix various components required for the production of skin creams and lotions.

The special thing about this vessel: for it to be used in the production of different kinds of cosmetics, it had to be possible to heat it up to a temperature of 800 C. On the other hand, it also had to be possible to cool it down to -5o C.

Our solution

  • Determination of the material to be used: 1.4571
  • Calculation of the thickness of the material used to build the vessel and the ideal size and diameter of the half-pipe coil to best fulfil the task at hand.
  • Design of the valves, fittings and pipes
  • Determination of the thickness of the insulation
  • Project duration: ca. 2 months

Customer benefit

Fast construction and assembly
Fulfils exceedingly high demands for hygiene
Gentle, highly efficient mixing
No aeration – no foaming – high product quality
Low risk of down time
Diverse applications
High level of productivity
Low production costs by conserving material
Fast amortisation

Plant construction

Plant construction

PLANT CONSTRUCTION
and engineering clients can be quite secretive:

Pickling of stainless steel sheets protects from corrosion and increases the life span of the produced work pieces. Pickling brings about an intensive cleaning of the surface, making it free from oxides and contamination through traces of other metals. And after pickling it has a silk matt sheen.

The Task

A German industrial company asked us to build components for a machine that pickles sheet metal. Originally the entire pickling line was supposed to have been made of plastic.

Later it was decided that some of the components should be made out of stainless steel. The only thing that we really knew was that the pickling process used for finishing the sheet metal would have a temperature of about 80° C. The pickling line was to be set up in Asia.

Our solution

  • Determination of material used: here, Stefan Berendes, a stainless steel expert, advised our client’s project team.
  • Highly precise production: sheets can be transported through the pickling tunnel without any problems.
  • Precise production of connectors and flanges for nozzle tubes and drive rollers.
  • Pickling tunnel size: L = 12,000 mm, H = 3,675 mm, W = 1,580 mm
  • Project duration: approx. 3 months

Customer benefit

Faster assembly through highly precise production
Fewer down times
High level of productivity
Fast amortisation
